Oak Smoked Burgers with Sautéed Peppers & Onions

Ingredients

1 tablespoon oil
1 medium green or red bell pepper (or 1/2 of each), thinly sliced
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
1 package McCormick® Gourmet Bourbon Spiced Pork with Roasted Sweet Potatoes & Apples Recipe & Seasoning Mix, divided
2 pounds lean ground beef
1/4 cup ketchup
8 slices Swiss or white Cheddar cheese
8 crusty artisan rolls

Directions

1. Heat oil in large skillet on medium-high heat. Add bell pepper, onion and 1 tablespoon of the Seasoning Mix; cook and stir 5 minutes or until tender. Set aside.

2. Mix ground beef, ketchup and remaining Seasoning Mix in large bowl until well blended. Shape into 8 patties.

3. Grill, broil or cook in nonstick skillet on medium heat 5 minutes per side or until burgers are cooked through (internal temperature of 160°F). Add cheese slices to burgers 1 minute before cooking is completed. Serve burgers on rolls topped with onion and bell pepper mixture.
