Cuban Sandwich

Ingredients

1 Cuban roll, club roll or 6-inch piece of French bread, split
1 tablespoon yellow mustard
1 tablespoon mayonnaise
2 slices Pernil (Roast Pork Shoulder) (about 2 ounces)
2 slices deli ham (about 1 ounce)
1 slice Swiss cheese
1 to 2 slices pickles
2 teaspoons butter, softened

Directions

1. Preheat panini press while assembling panini. Spread mustard on bottom half of roll and mayonnaise on top half of roll. Layer roll with roast pork, ham, cheese and pickles. Butter bottom of sandwich and place on panini press. Butter top of sandwich. Close press.

2. Cook 3 to 4 minutes or until bread is golden brown with grill marks and cheese is melted. Serve warm.

Tips

To Use a Skillet: Assemble sandwich as directed. Melt butter in skillet on medium-high heat. Add sandwich; cook 4 to 5 minutes per side or until bread is golden brown and cheese is melted. Press sandwich occasionally with a spatula to flatten slightly.
