Mace and nutmeg are the only spices that come from the same fruit. Mace is the lacy covering of the seed. From Indonesia, it is orange in color and has a sweet, warm, spicy flavor.
Usage Tips
May be interchanged with nutmeg. Use in chocolate desserts, cooked fruit, cookies and baked apples. Add to asparagus, spinach, carrots and creamed chicken.
